A Zimbabwean Dev with a Cause (and a journal)
Hailing from the vibrant heart of 🇿🇼Zimbabwe, I'm a software developer fueled by two passions: building impactful solutions and celebrating the African narrative. Coding became my escape hatch, a way to turn problems into possibilities, especially for my community. There's a special kind of thrill in taking an idea and weaving it into a tangible solution – it's like painting the digital landscape with your imagination.
But the code itself isn't enough. I believe in building tech that reflects our unique African stories. We have so much to offer the world – our rich cultures, languages, and values. Right now, the tech landscape is dominated by foreign influences, and that doesn't always sit right with me. I dream of a future where we create solutions specifically for our African context, solutions that empower our communities and tell our own stories.
This pan-African spirit fuels my current projects (still in the ideation stage, but watch this space!). I'm primarily a web developer, but my curiosity stretches into embedded systems, machine learning, and cybersecurity.
The road hasn't always been smooth. My battles with mental health have been a constant companion, but they've also been a surprising source of strength. The endless internal monologues (most of them creative rants, I'll admit) propelled me towards coding and keep me hungry to learn new things. Maybe that's why crafting user stories and user experiences comes so naturally – I'm a pro at internal dialogues, after all!
My writing side-hustle spills over into my development process, but the real magic happens in my journal. It's a haven for my thoughts, experiences, and creative explorations – a mental playground that fuels my software development journey.
This global perspective isn't just from books. I had the incredible opportunity to visit China for a cultural exchange. Their rapid development, fueled by their own culture and values, truly impressed me. It solidified my belief that Africa can thrive on its own terms, leveraging our strengths to create technological marvels.
This portfolio is a window into my world – a world where code meets passion, empathy meets innovation, and a touch of madness fuels creativity. Dive in, explore my projects, and if you share a vision for technology with a purpose, let's connect!

My experience as a volunteer in our Youth Coding Program at Uncommon.org, where I teach young kids to code using Scratch.
It's been an incredibly rewarding experience to see these bright young minds engage with technology and develop a passion for coding.
With Scratch, we've been able to make coding accessible and fun, allowing kids to express their creativity and problem-solving skills.
Watching them build their first games, animations, and stories has been a source of pride and inspiration for me.
